Adam

Adam had an idea to start a content creation business, He had all the ideas and some of the technology, all he needed was a bit of help to get started. The Hand Up not Hand Out Grant has given Adam the ability to start creating the content he’s always been dreaming about.

This Grant is an excellent example of how following your dream can lead to an employment opportunity with a bit of support.

Creative Northland

Creative Northland had a wonderful volunteer called Liam, who was doing an amazing job supporting the team. The Hand Up not Hand Out grant was used in partnership with Creative Northland to give Liam an opportunity to become part of the team and take on a paid part-time role.

With the help of a willing employer, the Hand Up not Hand Out Grant has resulted in paid employment and Liam is thriving in his new role.

Monica

Monica had an idea to run a course to foster support, greater awareness and better understanding of New Zealand Sign Language (NZSL).

The Hand Up not Hand Out Grant has funded an 8-week course for students to learn NZSL and take that back to their workplaces, homes, and communities.

This Grant shows Why Hand Up, not Hand Out is so important, to support greater inclusion in the Workplace, in society and at home.
