About

The WorkBridge Foundation is the parent of the WorkBridge group. The group is a social enterprise whose mission is to deliver inclusive, successful employment opportunities. The WorkBridge Group commenced operations on 1 July 2023, inheriting the assets of Workbridge Inc. but our whakapapa stretches back to the Soldiers’ Civil Re-establishment League in 1931  https://workbridge.co.nz/about-us The services historically known as Workbridge are operated by a new company, Workbridge Employment Services Ltd. https://workbridge.co.nz/about-us

Our purpose

We strive to create a New Zealand where everyone who wants a job has one, and where employers choose the best person for the role.

There is much work to do to ensure disabled people can find and do the job they want. The unemployment of disabled people is much higher than the nondisabled. A little under half are not participating in employment, education or training.

The WorkBridge Foundation understands that employment is key to mana, economic independence, and socialisation. We are committed to changing things for the better.

Our People

We are proudly disability-led, whether through appointment of disabled people into leadership positions or those with lived experience of the challenges of our sector. We believe that the best services for disabled people are created when disabled people are involved in determining what and how they are delivered. Bios for our Chief Executive and Board members can be found here.

The Foundation is guided and advised by our member organisations, all of whom are committed to inclusive employment. These include: Disabled Persons Organisation’s – Blind Citizens NZ, Deaf Aotearoa, Kapo Māori Aotearoa, Muscular Dystrophy Association, As well as Business NZ and Human Resources NZ.
